SASAA Conference - Eunice High School
South African Schools Alumni Association - Eunice High School - Bloemfontain
In September 2019, SASAA (South African Schools Alumni Association) held their annual conference at Eunice High School, Bloemfontain. The Old Georgian Union joined the association at the end of 2018. The aim of SASAA is to bring together school alumni organisations from across Southen Africa from both independent and public schools, young and old. Being able to share ideas and talk about things that are working and need attention with other alumni organisations has been extremely insightful, helpful and reassuring.
We had the pleasure of listening to some great guest speakers and presenters, sharing ideas and giving insight to marketing in the digital and social media age, to engaging with a young audience.
Some of the notable topics and speakers during the conference were Raymond van Niekerk on ‘Brand Challenges’, Mr Serekone on ‘Moving with the Times’ and Johan Volsteedt: ‘Every school has a culture which is alove and is reflected by its old boys and girls’.
The amount of information shared during the three days both in the formal presentations and during the more social times has been invaluable. The contexts and friendships has been greatly beneficial. A huge thank you to all the organisers of the conference at both SASAA and especially at Eunice High School. Also thank you to St George’s for the opportunity to go on the conference and be part of a wonderful leaning experience.
