OG Talks 2019

OG Talks - Wednesday, 24 April 2019

The evening will consist of three presentations (15-20 min each) by OGs who have made significant strides since leaving St George’s Grammar School. They will be sharing their stories, successes, ideas, achievements or tips for success.

Refreshments will be served during the event.

Kerryn Pitt (OG 1994)

Not knowing what to do after leaving school, Kerryn landed up training as a medic. She spent a few years in the various emergency services trying to find her place in the world. During this period, she got married, had two children, got divorced and discovered she had cancer and landed up finding her calling in Khayelitsha and traditional medicine. Kerryn shares her story of discovery.

Joshua du Plessis (OG 2011)

Creative and happy; since leaving school Josh has always lived an active lifestyle and has made a living off surfing and yoga. Josh is also a talented music producer (@jydkymusic), creating electronic music for animation and video content. He will share how music, surfing and yoga helped create a sustainable career.

Jason (Spikes) van der Westhuizen (OG 2011)

Known as DJ Jason Spikes to Good Hope FM listeners, Jason hosts his own show “The Main Stage with Jason Spikes” Friday and Saturday 22:00 – 01:00. This is the first and only all-inclusive EDM radio show on radio South Africa. Nominee for best radio DJ at the Cape Town Experience Awards 2019, Jason will share his journey and his rise to the top and talk about the projects he is working on.
